Why buy it

Vaultwarden is a community-developed, Bitwarden-compatible password manager. Cli>_ operates the runtime, TLS, persistent storage, and backups. Public registration is disabled and the initial administration token is delivered through runtime-only credential handoff.

Vaultwarden gives you a dedicated password-management service without placing the administration token or customer vault password in Git. Use the handed-off administration token to invite your account, then choose your own master password inside Vaultwarden. Cli>_ cannot derive that master password and does not store it. Vaultwarden is an independent community project and is not an official Bitwarden service.

Your master password remains yours

Cli>_ hands over only the server administration token. You create the vault account and master password inside Vaultwarden, so the master password is never generated by the shop, written to Git, or stored in the service order.

Good fits for Vaultwarden

  • Personal and team password vaults.
  • Secure notes, passkeys, and shared organization collections.
  • Teams that want Bitwarden-compatible clients with a dedicated managed backend.
